16 or under? Love to sing? Henley Voices is for YOU!

We are delighted to announce the creation of Henley Voices – a new singing group for 16s and under in Henley – launching on Tuesday 8th Sept at 5.00pm at d:two, Market Place, Henley.

The aim is to get as many young people as possible in Henley and the surrounding areas to sing! There are two  groups 7-11 and 12-16, NO AUDITIONS and a variety of music – pop, jazz, folk, gospel, classical, and songs from musicals.

Musical Director Richard Harding says: “Do you sing along to your favourite tracks? Sing to yourself in your bedroom? Wonder what it would be like to develop your voice? If you are interested in singing, want to express yourself and have fun, then join Henley Voices.  There are plenty of performances (and solo opportunities if you want them) and lots of new stuff  to try. The aim is to encourage you to develop your potential, have fun and enjoy your singing. The ambition is to sing to a professional standard with the support of professional musicians. So don’t miss out. Come along, get involved, sing, perform and find your voice.”

Manager Fi Harding says: “we’ve had a great time with Henley Youth Choir but now it’s time to bring something bigger and better to Henley! That’s why we are launching Henley Voices. Henley Voices is all about offering every 16 and under in Henley and the surrounding areas the chance to sing, have fun and express themselves. Henley Voices is going bigger and better with more sessions, more places available, more music variety, and more performance opportunities.”

Musical Director Richard Harding says: “I am so excited to launch Henley Voices this autumn. I am looking forward to leading amazing young singers of all levels of ability in an ambitious, varied, inspirational and, above all, fun programme. There are plenty of performances planned – including the first as part of the inaugural Henley Jazz Festival at 11.00am on Sunday 27th September at The Henley Town Hall Ballroom with the superb gospel star Monique B Thomas as part of ‘Down By The Riverside.’ Plus, we are already working to collaborate on a big joint singing project as part of the Henley Youth Festival.”

Fi Harding continues: “Please do help spread the word. Henley Voices is part of a charity – we are not a business or a franchise – so everything goes into making sure that our young singers have the best possible experience and opportunities. There are huge benefits to young people singing together. It’s such a joyful and fulfilling activity. The kids come in to us and they realise they can sing – they learn and they express themselves. We see them grow in confidence. We are also glad to offer the opportunity for young people to get together, enjoy themselves and have a great time with others in real life and away from a screen.”
